With IBAN, Process Your Transfers Safely!

Aiming to always enhance the efficiency of all your transfers, Byblos Bank started, on 1 January 2010, the application of the International Bank Account Number (IBAN) for all domestic and international transfers. As per the Central Bank of Lebanon’s regulation (Basic circular No. 120), the use of the IBAN will be mandatory starting 1 July 2010. After that date, payments that do not include IBAN will be rejected. Hence, the persons who will transfer money to your account must have both the number of your existing account and your IBAN.

What should you know about IBAN?
IBAN is an international bank account number recognized worldwide.
IBAN is not a new account number, and will not replace your existing account number.
IBAN consists of a compound number of twenty-eight digits, which are divided as follows: Country Code, Check Number, Bank Identification Code, and your Account Number.
The adoption of IBAN will significantly reduce operational risks by decreasing the number of rejected transfers because of invalid beneficiary account numbers.

To get your IBAN, please refer to your statement of account or click here to retrieve it.
